GRAPHIC DESIGNER / PREPRESS TECHNICIAN

This is a full time position in a fast paced printing, direct mail, and marketing firm. We are a family owned business in existence since 1946 in Auburn, California

Min qualifications:

  • Two years or more of design experience.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Expert in Acrobat Pro: preflight, output preview, color conversions, cropping
  • Proficient on Mac and PC and be able to navigate network hard drives
  • Must have a technical and creative balance to work in this organized and fast paced environment
  • Must know what bleed is and how to make a file with bleed print ready
  • Must understand color spaces
  • Must be able understand how workloads are prioritized

Plus:

  • You know how to use email builders such as MyEmma
  • You can use Dreamweaver
  • You've used an FTP before
  • You know mailing specs for automation
  • You have a degree in graphic design or related field

Duties may include:

  • Prepping/fixing art for print
  • Take notes on all jobs that require typesetting or fixing
  • Keep track of time spent on jobs
  • Checking to make sure art is print ready
  • Making updates to existing client art
  • Design client and in-house materials
  • Occasional logo design
  • Manage fonts
  • Work with marketing, sales, and customer service to communicate on jobs coming up or that are already in the shop
  • Design our email newsletter and monthly special materials across multiple formats: print, email, social media
  • Change and/or develop templates
  • Design flags, banners, fliers, billboards, postcards, pretty much everything you can think of that prints.

PRINTING SALESPERSON

To be a part of our talented team you must believe in your talent and ability to promote and sell our company and yourself. We have the tools you need for success with our staff and equipment we just need you. This is a full time position for a self-motivated, enthusiastic & confident outside printing sales representative to generate new sales and manage accounts in Northern California. Must be able to develop new accounts as well as grow current accounts. Experienced in printing or printing sales required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new B2B accounts through supplied leads and cold calling
  • Timely reporting of activities & tracking sales results
  • Developing and penetrating accounts through relationship building
  • Implementing consultative and solution selling strategies

What you need to succeed:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

  • Reliable transportation

A degree is not required but some college experience in business or marketing is a plus. Starting annual salary $30,000 to $45,000 depending on experience, plus commissions, expense allowance and medical benefits.

SALES/MARKETING ASSOCIATE

Must be able to develop new accounts as well as grow current accounts. Your efforts will be rewarded by repeat sales and ongoing solution based strategies.
